Can I have more than one pet in my commissioned portrait?
Yes. There is an additional cost to having more than one and you may need to have a larger picture size to accommodate the faces. However, it is possible to have two, or a group of heads in your portrait commission. Just discuss the matter with me and we can make arrangements.
Can I have a background?
Currently I am not doing backgrounds for my portrait commissions. I think having the animal on its own shows off your pet to its best advantage so viewers can clearly relate to the character and textures of the fur.
How long will it take to complete the portrait?
This very much depended on how many commissions I have booked, and the complexity and size of the work. I can usually give you a rough time I will be able to do the portrait. All my work is drawn out by hand using traditional techniques, they take many, many hours to complete, the oils taking weeks to complete. This is why booking a portrait for a special occasion well in advance is always advisable.
I am having trouble sending my photographs. What should I do?
Give me a call, I am always happy to help you if I can.
How much is postage and packing?
Please see costings on my prices page
How long will my portrait take to get to me once I know you have sent it off?
I will always contact you when I have completed your portrait to ensure that you are 100% happy with it. Once I have your approval I will secure package the portrait and send it to you. I use a 24hour tracking service for UK delivery. Worldwide can take between 5-7 days. I should be able to advise you when your parcel will arrive on an individual basis.
Can I print images of my portrait for family or friends?
Copyright law makes copying the portrait or using the image in anyway other than just enjoying it illegal. You own the copyright of the photographs you took, the artist owns the copyright to the portrait that they drew or painted. If you would like copies or cards made up of your portrait at any time, I will always keep a record of your commission and be able to make arrangements to get prints or cards etc. made.
How do I make a payment?
There is a BUY button on my prices page, it will allow you to select the size and number of subjects in the media of your choice. It will then allow you to pay via your Paypal account if you have one or by Credit or Debit card if you prefer. Just follow the instructions on screen. Alternatively you can send a Cheque made payable to Kate Rosten to my postal address found on my contact page.
Once completed and you have approved the portrait I will send you an invoice for the remaining amount. This can be paid by clicking the link attached to the invoice and paid via Paypal or you Credit/debit card as above, or by sending a cheque. Overseas commissions must pay via Paypal, credit or debit card.
